Love

It’s one of those rainy nights where you’re use to turning over and cuddling with your spouse.  There you are just enjoying the warmth and tenderness of the moment with the one you love.

It’s a beautiful sunny weekend and you’re reminded of those road trip moments.  The laughter, the talks, and how the new scenery made you share a different experience with one another.

You had a long day at work. Memories begin to flow on how you would vent about your day to your spouse. They will end up not only being your biggest cheerleader, but leaving a smile on your face while changing your mood.

Oh the blessings of having beautiful memories that we now cherish.  Yet it’s all a slap in the face on how it’s also the past.  One thing about memories, they are never in the present.  In the present, our love ones are gone and we are face to create new memories with the reality of them not be part of them.  Selah

Nevertheless, I then begin to dwell upon God’s love.

Psalms 63:3 (NLT)

Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you!

Jeremiah 31:3 (NLT)

Long ago the Lord said to Israel I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love, I have drawn you to myself.

His love goes beyond the love we experienced with our spouses.  Just look at the cross.  There was God who had to lower himself to the flesh and made the sacrifices needed just so we can be free. Why did he do it?  One word, love.

The Hebrew word Rav-Chesed means abounding in love.  Yet I find it interesting that chesed also means loving in spite of or having a mindset to love. (Kassian, Mary, 2010).

Think about that, God had a mindset to love us in spite of our sin.  He experienced everything we do here on earth, including abandonment.  He loved us so much that He sacrifice us from being separated from Him. Now we can come boldly to the throne of grace.  We can come to him in all things.

Oh how when I think upon His Rav-Chesed love, it makes me feel warm, light, joy, and peace.  Oh how much awe of his love I am with Him.  So yes, I along with others miss our spouses every single day.  Yet imagine feeling this without God’s love.  During times when we feel those down days, let us wrap ourselves in His arms and enjoy His love!

Be encouraged.
